Gansbaai launch this morning, due to the tide, where we encountered whales passed Danger point! A couple of Southern Right Whales enjoying the morning sunshine. As we passed these guys we headed straight to the shallows to start a sharky morning. With the copper sharks sowing up in force and fast this morning, we got our first cage of divers in the water to get face to face with the sharks. We got some excellent activity with plenty of passes by the cage and a lot of happy divers. With rumours of a white shark in the bay we moved our anchor quickly to try and find the elusive white shark. Unfortunately in vain, but if you don’t try you don’t know! The copper sharks continued to show off around Slashfin with some more excellent activity as the morning continued. Our divers got through the cages and were exposed to some fantastic sightings. With our first trip happy we headed back to the harbour to pick up the second group.

This group, a large school group from Hong Kong were super excited to see some sharks this morning, and we did not disappoint. Back in the shallows the copper sharks were on form. With superb activity through the trip, everyone got to spend some time with these magnificent sharks. While the water may have been a little chilly for this group, arguably it was worth braving the cold. On our return to the harbour we saw multiple whales catching some afternoon sun, and even an individual breaching in the distance!

For our third trip, we got straight back to the shallows having also seen some whales on the way there. We got our divers geared up and ready for some action. With a slight wait we first got a copper shark around the boat and then some nice activity as well as a stingray later on in the trip. While we weren’t able to get a white shark today, the sunshine and sharks combo was still wonderful.
