Trip One
What an exciting morning on the water, we had some fantastic White sharks sightings. Once on anchor we did not have long to wait till our first shark arrived, a large shark, it cruised by the back of the boat and disappeared into the depths. Moments later a new shark arrived, a smaller male with some white pigmentation on its dorsal, an individual we did not recognise. This seemed to be a theme for this trip with a lovely number of White sharks appearing, all new sightings for Marine Dynamics this season. This is not unusual as White sharks are a highly migratory species and we were diving in an area that we haven’t in a week are so. Always exciting to see more new animals arriving in the bay for Winter! We also had some feathery visitors today behind the Islands, both a Giant Petrel and an Albatross, something interesting for those on board that have an interest in birds! A quick cruise through Shark Alley as we watched the Cape Fur seal colony basking on Geyser Rock.

Trip Two
The second trip of the day headed out to our diving spot and had a White shark on arrival. Next up a new addition for the day was “Sellendilloh” a shark that has been tracked up and down this coast line with a satellite tag as attached by Ocearch in 2012, view his tracks and more information at this site here. Whilst Marine Dynamics specialises in White sharks today seemed to be a good day for birds with the first trip spotting an Albatross and Giant Petrel and on this trip we had a mystery visitor we believe to be a Antarctic Prion, not a common sight around our boat.

A wild day out and about in the bay
