Sharks and whales you say? A stunning day at sea today! We headed out this morning bright and early to try and catch some sharky action in the bay. We anchored up and within minutes we had our first white shark! A pale 3m white shark cruised by the cage and we got our divers geared up and our first cage in. These divers got super close to this very inquisitive shark, joined shortly after by a nippy little 2.5m female that was very interested in the decoy line. This little lady gave our second group of divers some absolutely stunning activity, with some very happy divers in the cage. The third cage got the third shark of the day, the 3m male that was sighted the other day, he again gave some very consistent activity for these divers, and some of our more keen guests kept suited up and went round again! With a stunning shark trip under our belts we headed over to the island to go check out the seals at the island, and took a gentle cruise through the alley to check out what was going on. While the seals were hugging the rocks, there didn’t appear to be sharks lurking, we had a wonderful encounter with a breaching southern right whale! It’s encouraging to see that there are increasing sightings of southern rights on their way up from the southern ocean!
