Trip 1
A stunning day to be out on the water with minimal swell and wind and bright, clear skies. The sharks appeared after about a 30 minute wait with one of our juvenile males showing up. The activity was nice this morning with many other sharks showing up including a large female we have been seeing frequently lately with the upper lobe of her caudal fin missing, “Pieter” our tagged, biopsied and Iconic male White shark and another juvenile male with remnants of a tag on the right side.
Trip 2
The second trip of the day got off to a slow start with a small White shark appearing straight away and then disappearing before an hour wait followed for another shark to show up. This was the same large female the first trip saw and once she appeared so did others making for a fantastic end to this trip.
Trip 3
The third and final trip followed in the same pattern as the previous one with a shark appearing not too long after we arrived but then disappearing for quite some time. Patience was a major part of this afternoon’s trip as well as the previous one but in the end it paid off with the feisty juvenile male with the remnants of a tag appearing and wowing our visitors and a large, slow-moving male appearing and making some great attempts on the decoy.
