Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Short-tail stingray, Cape fur seals & Indian Ocean humpback dolphins
Trip Summary: An early departure for our first trip of the day, with a warm welcome into the bay from the endangered Indian Ocean humpback dolphins. Albeit a bit shy, we had a close encounter before continuing to the dive site in the shallows. On anchor, we were spoilt with multiple sightings of elasmobranchs, starting with the Bronze whaler sharks who kept us company throughout all trips of the day. The next species was the Short-tail stingray, with an individual who has been known in our bay since 2018, sporting a healing shark bite and feisty attitude that makes her a guest and crew favourite! Cape fur seals were also sighted, predating on smaller benthic shysharks. A successful day on the water, thank you to everyone who joined us on board Slashfin today!
