Sightings:  Great White Sharks

Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: Moderate

Visibility: Poor

Look out, Slashfin and her crew were back on sea again after a two day break due to winter conditions moving through the area. The crew and guests launched early this morning, arriving on anchor as the sun started to rise and experiencing some choppier conditions as a westerly wind began to gain momentum. The morning proved to be a successful one with the cry of shark heard just short of 30 minutes after arrival, as the first feisty juvenile tried to sneak up on our lines. The first cage got in and we had two different sharks a male (3.1m) and a smaller female. For some time the activity slowed down a little bit but then three other sharks came into the picture gettting us to a total of 5 shark this trip! A larger female and one of our favourite sharks gave us quite  performance showing that sharks feel quite comfortable out of the water as well! A little bit tired but thrilled with our experience we headed back to the harbour to warm up with a bowl of nice hot soup.
