Trip 1
Another early Winter morning for our visitors today as we launched from Kleinbaai just after 7am. The boat headed out to the Islands and anchored in the Geldsteen and after an hour wait with no activity it was decided to try our Summer dive site in the Shallows. We had better luck on our second anchor with sharks arriving half an hour after we did. This trip was dominated by the juveniles with all the sharks that showed up being under the 3.0m length. Due to the tide constraints we had to head back around Danger Point into Gansbaai Harbour.

Trip 2
The second trip launched from Gansbaai and made its way back to the Shallows. A shark was spotted on re-anchor, a great start to the trip. This trip was yet again a playground for the juvenile White sharks.

Trip 3
The third and finaltrip of the day launched this afternoon and found a little White shark around the cage when we got back to it. It appeared that this trip was going to be a repeat of the first two with the juvenile White sharks the only ones to show up, with the first few around on the smaller side such as “Mandy” and the newly adopted female “Sea Haus”, however a big shadow was then sighted and out the depths appeared an estimated 3.8m male, then another large male a tad bit larger than the first and our last shark of the day a 3.5m female. It looks like the big sharks waited all day to come out and show off.

Could it be that we are seeing a shift to our Summer season and site so soon in the year? Only time and the sharks will tell…
