Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks
Summary: Today’s trip was nothing short of incredible, with guests being spoiled by our local marine life! Calm conditions awaited us, with the first sighting of the docile Southern right whales occurring just outside the local harbour. Early in the season, it offered an insight into the use of our bay for calving purposes. At the dive site, the Bronze whaler sharks were first to arrive and welcome our first divers into the water. Consistent activity and improved visibility offered up close sightings for all trips! The arrival of multiple Short-tail stingrays treated us to an incredible showcase of their size and grace in the water. Additionally, an extra shark species arrived, the prehistoric Broadnose sevengill shark. The first trip had a large female with the second trip having a smaller individual pop through, our second sighting of this shark species for the year. Thank you to everyone who joined us to enjoy this incredible wildlife experience, it was a pleasure having you on board Slashfin!
