Trip 1
Our first trip started overcast with some wind blowing over the bay. After we dropped anchor at our dive site for the day in Joubertsdam, we were waiting just over an hour for the first shark to arrive. Most of the sharks we got to see on this trip were juveniles and two bigger ones over three meter. The sharks this morning kept their distance but the smaller ones approached a few times. When our fifth shark arrived, a female of 3.2m and she was happy to have a closer look at the divers in the cage. We also encountered a little male, estimated at 2.4m in lenght, who has been seen in the bay since three weeks. Its dorsal fin is torn most likely due to a propeller injury, but it is healing nicely. Guest on board managed to see a short tailed stingray as well.

Trip 2
On the second trip for the day we just arrived at the anchor spot and we already spotted a shark close by. Our divers got changed quickly into their wetsuits and were getting ready for the dive. The shark activity was great throughout the whole trip. The smaller sharks were more actively passing in front of the cage. We also had two bigger ones around our vessel ‘Slashfin’. One of them was ‘Sellendilloh’ a satellite tagged male. We also had a stingray approaching the cage a few times before disappearing in the deep ocean. All over it was a great trip with great shark activity.
