Trip 1
A bit of a later start today for our guests and the team here at Marine Dynamics with Slashfin due on the water at 8:30am. This morning we were lucky enough to spot a White shark only five minutes after setting down anchor and whilst this shark only stuck around for a few minutes in that time the large female leapt out of the water twice…what a way to start the day! Soon after a different shark appeared but it to had no interest in sticking around and was soon gone and so it continued like so with the next shark and the next with the animals this morning coming and going quickly. The arrival of “Scarlett” a large female brought some nice passes as she slowly circled the boat and once in front of the cage came to the surface to show more of herself. The group also saw a Short-tailed stingray during their trip.

Trip 2
The second trip of the day had a slow start but once the sharks appeared the activity was fantastic. We had a young visitor on board today, Thomso, who was a big help to our team on board Slashfin including helping with the observational data and together we counted 6 different sharks, one of which was the very active 3.0m+ male with a recently attached acoustic tag as well as some big, beautiful females that caused quite a stir amongst our visitors when their impressive shadows appeared out of the depths and some fiesty little juveniles set on proving that the little sharks are just as nice to see then the larger ones. We were also graced with the presence of a Short-tailed stingray for most of the afternoon as it glided up and down in the water column.
