What a day to end the week on! The conditions were absolutely stunning with the temperature rising both in the water and above, the sun shining, little to no swell and a very slight wind. Once on anchor in the Shallows our first trip had Copper sharks around very quickly and whilst it took a little while for the sharks to approach the cage we could clearly see them circling from the boat. The activity only improved as approximately 4 different Copper sharks made their way past the cage. We also had two Short-tailed stingrays gliding up from the depths to join the activity. The way back to the harbour produced a sighting of a different kind, instead of the fish that we spend trips on the lookout for we saw multiple Southern Right whales. A beautiful way to end the morning.

The second trip of the day saw the Copper sharks yet again appear quickly and stick around for the entire trip with consistent sightings up till the moment the boat left to make its’ way back to harbour. Whilst we have been worried about seeing the Copper sharks over the last few days are they are a fished species we are happy to still be seeing this species of shark and exhibiting some great activity too.

The third and final trip of the day launched into the same stunning conditions as the previous two and also experience Copper sharks very soon after they arrived back on anchor. The Copper sharks were happy to be around for the third time this day and allowed our last group of guests to enjoy the sight of this magnificent creature.

A beautifully bronzed day all around with bright, clear conditions and fantastic Copper sharks.
