This morning started of with an eerie mist covering the bay adding to the sharky feeling! We headed into the Shallows and with the coastline just visible through the mist we started our day of shark cage diving. The first shark to arrive was a small juvenile, quite shy in its behaviour and not one to stick around or get close to the cage however after about half an hour “Rosie” came cruising into view and gained some new admirers on today’s trip. We also had another large female around but not as active as “Rosie” and one of the sharks that was tagged by the Dyer Island Conservation Trust – DICT just last December.

Although in the afternoon it was still overcast we had a lovely trip. During the trip we had seven different sharks around Slashfin. The shark activity was good in the beginning slowed down a little bit and picked up again towards the end of the trip. We also saw one of our acoustic tagged sharks passing by the cage. Our biggest shark we saw on the second trip was just above four meters.
