We had a slow start to the trip this morning with the sharks taking their time to show up. We did sight some sharks around the boat but not close enough for our divers to see and usually heading in a direction away from us. However, after close to an hour of patience we had our first shark arrive. This was a very small individual around the 2.5m mark that didn’t stay around for long. Thankfully only 15 minutes after its arrival our second one popped up! It was with our third shark that the action really started to happen, the arrival of four very active sharks we have been seeing quite frequently around the boat in the last week made certain that those on board got to see a Great White Shark at a close range. The second trip of the day had great success with one of the juvenile females turning up 10 minutes after the boat returned. These 10 minutes is just enough time to get our visitors on board into their wetsuits and excited to jump in the water…good timing sharks! The same individuals from the first trip were re-sighted, however there were some new additions this afternoon, including the largest shark of the day, a magnificent 4.1m male that we have only seen on a number of occasions.
