Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks
Trip 1.
We launched onto a bay covered in low clouds and threatening rain but once on anchor, the weather cleared beautifully.
It was a short wait for our first sighting however a large female Bronze whaler appeared and not too long after others joined with the trip finishing on six different individuals for the morning.
The water may have been cold but our guests were full of smiles and laughs today.
The activity was sensational for the trip with slow approaches allowing us to get a good, long glimpse at these sharks but also with some fantastic surface breaks.
These four friends visiting from Sweden enjoyed watching the sharks before taking the plunge.
The nice, calm behaviour we saw from the sharks today made for some fantastic passes as they slowly swam to and along the cage.
Newlyweds starting their honeymoon with a splash!
The Bronze whalers gave us some surprise flashes of their eyes and teeth this morning as they broke the surface of the water.
The surface activity means that it is just as enjoyable to view the sharks from the boat as it is in the water.
We were also treated to the sight of this large flock of Cape cormorants leaving Dyer Island this morning.

Trip 2.
We had some very nice close encounters whit the Bronze whaler sharks!
They stayed the whole trip!
We also had a Cape fur seal around !
We had a few huge females around!
Here you can see the Nictitating membrane covering the eye of this shark to protect it!
We also had such good visibility today!
