Conditions: A stunning day to be at sea with flat seas and very little wind.
Brilliant sunshine, flat seas, and a light breeze. Talk about a perfect day for shark cage diving! With amazing conditions, we launched and wondered what nature would have in store for us today. Would we see sharks? And if so, would they be white sharks??
We had some amazing animal encounters, with 2 different species of jellies passing in front of the cage. One was a box jelly- not the deadly kind- and the other was a blubber jelly. We also had a visit from a few short-tailed stingrays who were very curious about the divers in the cage.
As for the sharks, the White sharks were elusive today, not appearing in the bay for any of our trips. Fortunately, we had some great sightings of the Copper sharks, with several visiting on each trip making close passes infront of the cage- some came so close that they slid their pectoral fin along the cage, as if giving all of our divers a high 5!
We hope that we continue to have such great sightings of our diverse sea life and that the white sharks will come by soon!
