Our first trip headed out into glorious morning sunshine! We anchored up in the Shallows and got our guests geared into their suits. We got a couple of shy copper sharks to start off with, but we heard rumours of a white shark in the Bay. So we quickly re-anchored a little deeper, and were instantly rewarded with Clubtail! This magnificent female of a whopping 4.3m gave us an excellent display of raw white shark power. As she made some strikes on sally the seal decoy, we witnessed how expert these predators are at hunting surface prey. She even decided to go after a bit of unsuspecting kelp, providing some amusement! But since sharks don’t have fingers the only way they can touch is with their mouth! The copper sharks didn’t seem to be too bothered about her presence either as we had both species cruising round the boat at the same time at some points. Our cage divers managed to witness some stunning activity from both species, and with that we cruised through the shallows and back to the harbour for our second trip.
For our second trip we once again headed towards The Shallows. On a nice, flat sea we arrived quite quickly and soon our divers were in their wetsuits. The Copper sharks immediately arrived, and soon our divers were in the cage. Our divers were thrilled by the amazing sight of the animals as they swam by the cage. And the beautiful weather was a huge bonus too. Our guests finished the trip with some nice soup and bread at the Great White House.
