Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Short-tail stingray, Cape fur seal, Bryde’s whale + African penguins
Summary: An early departure for our first trip of the day into the sunrise with calm waters awaiting. Heading into the bay, the arrival to the dive site was prompt, as were the divers getting into their wetsuits. Once dressed, the Bronze whaler sharks were shortly around the vessel, ready to welcome the divers into the Atlantic waters. The sightings of Bronze whaler sharks were consistent through the trips of the day, with large females getting up close to divers in the cage with thrilling sightings. As well as the sharks, the large Short-tail stingray also paid us a visit, impressing guests with her size and grace. Curious Cape fur seals were also present around the vessel, showing off the successful predation of bream! The second trip were lucky to spot a brief sightings of the shy Bryde’s whale, as well as a pair of the critically endangered African penguins on the way to the dive site, wrapping up the wildlife for the day.
