A bit of a cloudy start to the day but this did nothing to dampen our shark sightings. The first trip was off to a sharky start with it’s first arrival only 20 minutes into the trip. This was the juvenile we have seen last year with a tear to the tip of it’s dorsal fin which we are happy to report has healed over and now appears to just have a roll to the fin on the trailing edge. The start of the trip was dominated by the juveniles and Short-tailed stingrays however the last two sharks of the trip were big animals with a male just under 4.0m in length appearing and then a male over 4.0m showing up to finish off a great trip.

The second trip of the day was an exclusive for a group from all over the world enjoying a work related trip to Cape Town. The shark sightings started straight away with “Mini Nemo” one of the team’s favourites and a Marine Dynamics Iconic shark appearing and opening the trip magnificently! With the extremely decreased visibility today it was hard to view these animals under the water however as the trip continued we had two larger sharks arrive that we more than happy to come nice and close to the cage allowing those in the cage some glimpses.

The third and final trip of the day continued with much the same success as the first two with shrks from the get go and continuing throughout the trip. The visibility had in no way increased by we enjoyed fantastic views from the boat and some close passes by the cage on multiple occasions. We had a few juveniles show up before the big sharks came to play, including two females over 4.0m in length and the male known to us as “Tiger” with bite scars in stripe like formation all over his head and trunk. “Mini Nemo” rounded off a great trip and day.
