A early rise and shine for our cage divers today however it appeared that our sharks were having a sleep in! Yet with a change in wind we were in luck with the arrival of “Mark the shark”, a juvenile male easily indentified by the damage to his dorsal fin most likely from a boat or another shark last Winter. He was followed by another male a tad bit larger, with yet again damage to its dorsal as the tip had curled over. These two sharks were the stars of the morning as they continued to make appearances and break the surface of the water. We had a number of other sharks around including two over the 3.5m length! We also had the Short-tailed stingray come by for a visit. The second trip of the day launchedwith a big group from Denmark on board and two visitors from the UK. We headed into the Shallows to pick up from where we finished off on the first trip. The activity was fantastic on this trip with a constant supply of sharks passing on by, many of whom had visited us on the first trip but with the exciting addition of one of our current favourites, “Mini Rosie”. This shark is a juvenile female that has the agility and playfulness of a young shark yet the slow, calculating movements of an older shark. A great shark to show up expecially with one of our UK visitors on board having the same name! The Short-tailed stingrays were also present on this trip, yet not so persistant and we also had Humpback dolphins on the way back to the harbour. The third and final trip of the day launched with a couple visiting from the USA and deciding to spend the afternoon with us. The sharks were there from the get go as we pulled upto the cage and a large individual was cruising around. Throughout their dive we encountered a number of different individuals, the favourites were yet again “Mini Rosie” and the male with the curled fin from this morning. A truly amazing day out on the water in all senses…sharks, sun and more sharks…
