Sightings: Great White Sharks, Bronze whalers and a Cape Fur seal
Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: Moderate
Visibility: Moderate
We launched this morning and headed straight to the shallows in search of some sharks! We got there and the copper sharks turned up quickly so our divers jumped straight into the cage to get up close and personal with these sharks! We had some awesome activity for the first two cages of divers, but then activity started to dip a bit as the wind direction changed. But this seemed like it was for the best as Shaun the great white shark popped up towards the end for our final group of divers! We even had time for a few lucky divers to go again! So we had to be a little patient today but it certainly paid off!
The second trip of the day headed out with a small group of guests eager to set eyes on a shark. Things started off slow with a Bronze whaler appearing but seeming somewhat shy and with its’ available so began the patient wait for the divers in the water and others on board. However it paid off as a large dark shadow was spotted cruising just under the waters surface to the front of the boat, as Shaun the shark came closer and closer. The same male from the earlier trip, he spent the rest of our two cages coming and going from view with a few Bronze whalers braving the big Great White shark to make a few quick turns by us throughout the afternoon as well.
