Guest Comments: “Knowledgeable crew with a focus on research and sustainability. Even without shark sightings we had a great time!” – Allison + David

“Great team – we learned a lot and although no sharks, we enjoyed our time on the water! Will definitely be back for the sharks next time. And we still got to see whales, penguins and seals!” – Ryan + Sarah

“The team was great. We were notified a day before that we might not sea sharks. Whilst on the boat I felt sick and the team was very helpful, with mints and even ginger ale after!” – Beatriz

We might be a shark cage diving vessel but we were off to a whale of a start today with multiple Southern Right whales spotted as we headed into our anchor site just next to the Islands. Not only did we see whales before our anchor we also had a small raft of African penguins spotted off to the side of the boat. We hoped these great sightings would be a sign of good luck with shark sightings today after a week of no White sharks however unfortunately it was not to be with our group patiently waiting and hoping for three hours before we decided to pack up. We made a turn by the Cape Fur seal colony of Geyser Rock before making our way back to the harbour.

For those interested in what has been happening in the area and the reasons we believe behind the lack of White shark sightings please look at our previous blog posts and facebook page.

A big thank you to all of our group that joined the crew of Slashfin this morning.
