Conditions: Cloudy day on a flat sea, rain in the morning which quickly disappeared.
It was raining this morning, thus our guests got into their wetsuits at the Great White House, after which we headed down to the harbour and out to our dive-site. On our way out, the rain slowly started to dissipate. Once at in The Shallows, we did not have to wait long for the first Copper sharks to arrive. In our cage, our divers were thrilled by the sights of these amazing creatures as they passed close by the cage. Towards the end we were visited by a Cape Fur Seal. Overall our guests had an amazing time out at sea, and finished their trip with some soup and bread at the Great White House.
The rain held off for our second trip, we were just chilling in the mist! The sharks however were there in full force! With lots of fantastic activity at the start of the trip our cage divers got some excellent sightings in the cage. We even got a cape fur seal cruising up to the cage to show off the agility these seals have. With our second group in and still some great activity we had a boat full of happy cage divers, and an addition of another cape fur seal. We saw 3 tagged sharks on this trip also, which is great to see that these animals are receiving some research. With our research at the moment we are recording each trip with a gopro above the cage to monitor the behaviour of the sharks as they swim around Slashfin! With a successful trip ticked we waded back thorugh the mist and into the harbour!
