Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Broadnose sevengill shark, African Penguins + Cape fur seal
Summary: Our first venture out of Kleinbaai Harbour for August, with an early departure for the first trip. After a few days on land, the low swell and reduced wind were a welcome sight, with conditions improving throughout the day. Bronze whaler sharks were present, albeit fairly shy, however the close relative, the Broadnose sevengill shark, made up for this. Emerging from deeper waters, these sharks provided up close sightings. Our sightings were completed by the addition of a Cape fur seal securing it’s breakfast, impressively predating on mullet in front of the cage. For our second trip off the day, we mediately had Bronze whaler sharks around! The activity were amazing and our divers could enjoy numerous sightings over and under water! We also got lucky to get a Broadnose Sevengill shark as well! On the way back to the harbor we encountered 4 different African penguins!
