Sightings:  Great White Sharks, Bronze whalers and a Cape Fur seal

Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: Moderate

Visibility: Moderate

We launched from Gansbaai harbour fro our first trip gigving us an opportunity to enjoy beautiful local shoreline! Once we got to the dive site, we got our sharks almost imediately! All our divers had to do is to jump into their wetsuits and prepeare themselves for the cage. The first great white shark was a very well familiar to us juvenile shark of around 2.5m, followed by a cheeky Cape fur seal porposing around our boat.. After that we had a much bigger shark of around 3.8 meters going for our lines and being very curious. Straight after her we got ourselves our first male great white shark easily gliding in the water, showing how agile and graceful these large animals can be! A sneaky bronze whaler shaowed and tried its luck at the lines but quickly disappeared. And just as a cherry on top of our “shark cake” our large female named Clampy showed up leaving everyone in awe! What an incredible start of the day!

Having enough water in the bay, we launched from Kleinbaai harbour this time, heading back to the dive location where we left our cage with the anchor. Just as we got there we quickly geared up and started to wait for the first sharks to arrive, our first cage was incredibly lucky and saw 2 different great white sharks, a 2.5m juvenile and a 3.1m male. Once again we were lucky enough to show our divers another species of shark -Copper shark, shyly trying to nibble on our lines. Then we had a bit of a quiet time but as we always say patience usually pays off and another juvenile sharks came to the cage giving us quite a performance!
