With some excellent conditions on the water today all we needed was sharks! And they turned up in force today. For our first trip we got a total of 4 different great whites!! Our first shark of the trip didn’t take long to turn up, only 20 minutes after arriving in the shallows. Our first shark was Clampy! The 4m female cruised around the cage and checked out the decoy quickly before heading on to enjoy the sunshine. Our next shark was a 3.5m shark that hung low in the water circling the boat for a few minutes, not really coming up to the surface. After this a smaller 3m white shark also joined us, again hanging quite deep in the water, and then towards the end of this trip, we got a feisty 2.2m shark with a lot of energy. We got 2-3 minutes of activity form this feisty little shark and then off it went.

For our second trip we headed out into some excellent afternoon sun with just a slight pick up seen with the wind. We waited a little while for a white shark to join us on this trip with the first sighting very brief and in the form of the small, feisty shark from the earlier trip however she was not so feisty on this trip and we only caught glimpses of her white underbelly. The first cage of divers were in for a wait, patiently bobbing around in the chilly waters it wasn’t until close to the hour mark that a shark appeared, from the deep its snout appeared, a 3.0m male made a close pass by the cage on the left side before diving down. He unfortunately did not return however as the second cage settled a large shadow appeared from under the boat, Clampy was back, a lovely 4.0m+ female that made some beautiful passes by those in the water and allowed all on board a perfect view. Yet again this shark disappeared and we were back playing the waiting game with the third and last group of guests in the cage. The wait proved too much for some and we soon found our cage of nine down to three and did the perseverance pay off for those last divers as Clampy made a dramatic return focusing her attention on both the bait and decoy lines and making numerous passes. I truly spectacular way to end of the day whether it be for our guests or team members!
