The first day of a new month, we wonder what will August 2015 hold for Marine Dynamics and Slashfin’s passengers? We hope lots of active White sharks! Well the first trip of the month started off well with a shark spotted only 5 minutes after arriving and anchoring. Whilst this shark was a small one, the crew on board knew to keep an eye on it as it is a juvenile we have been seeing a lot of lately and is known to be very active around the boat, and nothing was different today! Whilst this little guy might be one of the smaller White sharks you will find in the area the other 3 sharks we had around this morning were all between the 3.5m – 4.0m length and really wowed those onboard. The second trip of the day started off slow so the decision was made to move to the other side of the Island where it had been heard the activity was picking up and where we found three sharks hanging around, two males nicknamed “George” and “Theo” and an unidentified juvenile, “Tooth-tooth” by those on board with us! The third and final trip of the day launched this afternoon and headed to our second dive site for the day behind the Island and found sharks within the first 15 minutes. These sharks were completely different individuals to the second trip with some larger sharks turning up to finish of the day, including “Clampy” the approximate 4.2m female who has been gracing us with her presence for the last few weeks and one that we have known and been able to ID very easily from the boat since 2013. Three shark-tastic trips to start off the new month…
