Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Bryde’s whale, African Penguins, Cape fur seals + Cape gannet
Summary: An unforgettable day of marine sightings to welcome in a new month! Our first trip were able to tick off all Marine Big 5, with sightings of African penguins and a Bryde’s whale on the way to the dive site. On anchor, Bronze whaler sharks were soon with us and divers were ready to immerse themselves with these graceful sharks. Clear visibility offered incredible sightings of the sharks, with a curious Cape fur seal who took interest in the cage. Additionally, guests were enthralled by the Short-tail stingrays emerging from deeper waters. Returning to the harbour, the endangered Indian Ocean humpback dolphins were seen amongst the surf, topping off the sightings for the first trip. The luck continued into the second excursion, with Bryde’s whales and African penguins popping up once again in before the dive site, amongst the impressive Cape gannets diving for fish. The Bronze whaler sharks did not disappoint, allowing a full day of beautiful interactions with these sharks, alongside the stingrays. Thank you to everyone who joined us today, it was a pleasure sharing these sightings with you!
