Brrrr! We had a chilly start this morning but soon the sun was out and it warmed up to be a beautiful day out on the water. The sharks didn’t mind the cold morning and we had our first toothy visitor to Slashfin within 10 minutes of anchoring and it didn’t stop there with sharks flying here, there and everywhere! We had a nice mix of sizes this morning ranging from 2.5m up to 4.0m, also a close to even mix of males and females. We had a well known individual turn up to Slashfin just before the end of our last cage, “Fishing line shark”, a small female our boat is always happy to see! When watching Great Whites swim around its hard to get distracted by anything else however this is exactly what happened half way through this afternoon’s trip when two Southern Right Whales surfaced not far from our cage. We are currently very early on in their season and therefore only have a few in the area at the moment so we were very lucky to see these two so close. These whales migrate to South Africa for the months of June to December to mate and calve and spend the rest of the year back in Antarctica feeding. Back to the stars of the show… the sharks! We had some great action this trip with the continuation of flying sharks. We finished the second trip the same as the first, with a visit from one of our favourites, “Fishing line shark”…

If you are looking to get up close and personal with the great white shark then
