Early morning today after another period of bad weather, The Great White Shark makes it all worth it…

The whale sightings are definitely giving the shark sightings a run for their money! It was incredible to see two Southern Right Whales so close to our boat and the fact that they loved to pose for photos made it even better. This was also at the very beginning of our trip and therefore laid the path for things to come. The sharks were equally as impressive with sightings of two tagged sharks; one acoustically and the other satellite. The largest shark was well over the 4 meter marker and the smallest was about 1.7 meters, a nice variation amongst individuals. Another great day in Kleinbaai…

Even though the water temperature has dropped about two degrees over the last couple of days, the fact that the sun was out in full force made up for it all! We were once again the only boat out on the water today which meant that we had all the sharks in the area all to ourselves! The conditions on the water were very pleasant with great weather for working on ones tan, not that I need any more tanning :)! Our sharks arrived in a matter of seconds and the first bunch were all massive females around the 4 meter mark! Great to start off big and maintain it throughout the trip! We were also lucky to conclude the trip with a terrific sighting of a Southern Right Whale on the horizon! Exceptional day…

It was fantastic to see the sun out in spectacular fashion once again, the past few days were just too cold and wet for my liking :)! We had an awesome group of clients on board who were more than eager to see some sharks and boy did we deliver! We barely had the cage tide down when the first shark decided to make its appearance, creating the perfect anticipation for the dive to come! Our first cage was packed with the more scare-prone individuals! As soon as the shark arrived in front of the cage Ryan let out a very girly scream, not to worry my friend it happens to the best of us :)! The largest shark was 3.9 meters in length and gave some fantastic passes! The trip itself was brought to an end in spectacular fashion with the sighting of two Southern Right Whales on our way back! This in conjunction with the Humpback Whales spotted this morning officially opens our whale watching season! This is hopefully just the start of things to come…
