Daily trip 22 April 2012 | Shark Diving South Africa

What a fantastic day it was on the water today. We were once again the only boat out today and it paid off heavily! On our way out of the harbour we were given an air show from our sub-antarctic skuas. There were six of them flying within our grasp which made it very special. In Shark Alley we were treated to several large and infamous sharks, namely ‘Slash Fin’ and possibly ‘Nick’. Slash Fin is easy to recognise by his unique fin, as you can see. He gave several great passes and put on a very nice show for our Norwegian clients! It was very special to be able to see so many sharks in about 5 meter deep crystal clear waters! Very special day…

Daily Trip 17 April 2012 | Shark Diving in South Africa

We had lovely weather conditions at sea today, even though we had some cloud cover I can guarantee that our clients worked on their tan. We had lots of bird activity around the boat as well today; it seems they have developed quite a taste for our chum :)! We had a large 3.8 meter female shark putting on a great spectacle. This shark had a massive scar on its left side which resembled a bite from another shark. These sharks prefer their space! Our smaller 2 meter shark was bursting with energy and kept our bait handlers on their toes. What a day…

Daily Trip 12 April 2012 | White Shark Diving in Gansbaai

Amazing, is one of many words that one could use to describe the day at sea today! We had an awesome number of sharks around the cage today and as an added bonus, 3 of the 14 sharks were huge (4 meters). It is always great to see lots of sharks and seeing big sharks are always an added bonus. Once again we had newlyweds on board and I would just like to wish them all the best for their futures together. They all started their futures together on a high note. Today was truly one for the record books! We also had the guys from “Shark men” in the area doing some of their tagging work. We observed them tag and release a shark from a distance. We have our own researchers on their boat observing the manner in which they conduct their tagging methods. Always something new every day with Marine Dynamics…

Daily trip 06 April 2012

It was truly an adventurous day on the water, with some interesting weather conditions as well as some great shark encounters. We deployed our cage in the area of Shark Alley in order to reap the benefits of the clearer water visibility. The waves were actually very enjoyable, however some guests were more susceptible to ‘motion distress’ than others. They remained in very high spirits which was great to see. Our sharks were all around the 3.5 meter mark and oddly enough they remained a bit hesitant of the cage, extremely interesting. Perhaps we will see them again tomorrow…
