Mandlonke Ngazini (Mandla)

Boat Manager

Mandla is one of our most experienced crew members, with over 20 years of expertise in the shark cage diving industry. Originally from the Eastern Cape, he has been a valuable part of the Marine Dynamics team for the past three years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for working with sharks.

Mandla thrives on the variability and excitement of working with sharks, finding each day unique and invigorating. His passion for marine life and dedication to his role are evident in his enthusiastic approach to every trip.

Mandla is committed to the development and learning of all crew members. He assists the COO in the safe running of Slashfin, ensuring that the vessel meets all current health and safety legislation and complies with the necessary SAMSA requirements. His leadership and guidance support a cohesive and knowledgeable team, prepared to handle all foreseeable operational situations.

Maintaining and updating the boat manual, Mandla ensures that the crew has clear instructions and terms of reference for every scenario. His hands-on approach to maintenance and his ability to organise volunteers help demonstrate his dedication to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
