Although the start to today’s trip was slow at first, it escalated very quickly towards quite a few jaw dropping moments! We had several large sharks initially and after a while they seemed to be getting bigger and bigger as we carried on. Finally we climaxed with a large 4.1 meter shark arriving for a closer look at the bait! The visibility seemed to deteriorate later on in the trip, most likely due to the cold front approaching. We had several families on board today, demonstrating how versatile and accommodating we can be to all group sizes and all ages! A great bunch of guests…

It is amazing how the visibility has remained so good for the last few days; it is really an added bonus to the entire experience. We were celebrating a couple of newlyweds on board today who decided that shark cage diving would be the ideal thing to do to strengthen their relationship. I think after today they will remain together for a very long time to come! We had lots of large sharks today with our regular smaller 2 meter individual making his appearance! We had a real treat today when we sighted a large 3.8 meter shark in shark alley, the waters were crystal clear. The seals were less than 2 meters away from it at times, however no predation took place to the great disappointment of all the guests :)! A tremendous day…

Today was so much more than just a shark cage diving experience, we were so fortunate to have loads of shark activity as well as various other animals in the area! Our day started brilliantly with lots of active sharks and amazing visibility. “Big Nemo” paid us a visit and she was looking very ravishing!  After our amazing shark diving excursion, our guests were welcomed by at least 20 bottlenose dolphins off the bow of the boat. They were truly an awesome sight. After that we ventured past shark alley to visit our friends the seals who were lazing about on Geyser Rock. Finally making our way back into port we had some subantarctic skua trying to grab some fish from our crew. It is amazing how these birds literally eat out of your hands. Truly a great day…

We had a very early start in order to get enough action packed into our day! We completed two successful trips today with lots of happy clients! The visibility in the water remained very good throughout the day which made shark viewing even more amazing! We had 10 large sharks all above the 3.5 meter mark and only 1 small shark! We had a massive flock of Cape Cormorants all around the boat in very dramatic fashion as well as a few Gannets diving for fish! The sharks were giving us an amazing display with several sharks being in front of the cage at one time! A really fantastic day!

What a fantastic day! The visibility was the best that I have seen in ages, that in conjunction with amazing sharks is a winning combination. The sharks arrived very quickly today and we had the first clients in the water before you could say ‘shark’! We had eleven large sharks, with one shark in particular showing all his pearly whites all the time. It spent more time outside of the water than in it :)! The water temperature drop has not gone unnoticed by the guests, however after a couple of minutes one gets use to it! Beautiful sharks, great visibility and awesome people made today a great trip…

Wow! We had a truly amazing time at sea today. The day started off on a wet note with heaps of rain, fortunately for us we were on a well equipped vessel. We simply released the side tarps and that protected us from all the rain, being the largest shark diving boat in South Africa has its perks! The rainbow was a good sign for us; the shark activity was very high with very close passes by the cage! The visibility in the water was amazing for most of the trip allowing for marvellous viewing, the rain offers some advantages. The sharks were passing time and time again and were all in the size range of about 3.5 meters. After the rain had moved on we were greeted by beautiful flat seas! It was an adventure packed day…

Every year on the 25th of February, Marine Dynamics and Dyer Island Cruises donate vessels to the commemoration of the BIrkenhead disaster…

It was an extremely eventful trip today with lots to see. We were being invaded by swarms of blue bottles (only 3) and they made an interesting conversation topic for quite some time! Our infamous “Big Nemo” made an appearance to the delight of the crew, she really isn’t the pretty’s girl in the water, but she’s still fantastic! All our sharks were more or less 3.5 meters in length today except for our final shark of the day who was 4 meters in length. The sharks were not us energetic and jumpy as usual, but they compensated by giving some REALLY close passes by the cage. On our way back to harbour we were treated with a bryde’s whale sighting, these ‘small’ whales frequent this area very often and it is always a treat to see them! A great day…

We had an abundance of sharks today and some phenomenal passes by the cage! We weren’t kept waiting at all today, the sharks were very punctual for a change :)! The sharks varied in size today with the largest being 4 meters. We had guests from all over the world and that always makes it interesting to see how different people respond to these animals. We had some screams, laughter and even our “smaller” guests started to fall asleep. We sighted some box jellies in the water today which was an added bonus! A very experience rich trip…

What a very special day it was on the boat today! We were celebrating a honeymoon with some newlyweds as well as having a party with one of our birthday girls on board! The shark sightings were very active and we barely had to wait 5 minutes for them to arrive! We had several large sharks today with the largest being 4 meters. The increase in wind gust resulted in a large drop in visibility in the water; however the sharks were very accommodating in this regard by simply coming closer to the cage :)! A couple of interesting sightings, other than the sharks of course, were some peculiar jellyfish in the water! I am still going to find out the species name, but if anyone knows its name please comment on the blog! I have added a photo of one of our local Gannets as well! A very entertaining day today…
