Day: August 27, 2012

What a day! Not only did our weather change dramatically from gloomy to sunny and warm, but the sharks were flying! One of our first sharks to arrive on the scene was very energetic and just kept chasing after our decoy! This shark was creating some of the best photo opportunities and if you had your camera in hand you definitely captured something to take home with you. After an amazing shark dive we started to make our way back towards the harbour and here we spotted a Southern right whale, great way to end off. A really thrilling trip…

Even though we did have a chilly wind and some swell today, the day was a massive success! We had two enormous sharks and some flying action! We have recently started to work around the inshore area again and unfortunately the visibility is limited at times, but as long as the sharks remain I’m happy. I just love to see happy faces…

After this recent cold front passed the waters around Dyer Island are full of sharks and well mixed. On this trip we had an abundance of sightings! The first shark to arrive was a 3m male followed by another similar sized individual. Diving was splendid with numerous sharks passing very closely to the cage and most people got back into the cage for a second time.
