It was a lovely warm day as we set out from the harbour. After a quick boat trip out to our anchor site, we didn’t have to wait long for the copper sharks to show up. We were also once again visited by one of our cape fur seals who had swum over from Geyser Rock. For all the birders out there, today was a special treat as we saw a giant petrel. It is certainly not an everyday occurrence to see them in our waters. Petrels often look as if they are walking on water as they take off into flight. It shows just what a special place our bay is for all types of wildlife. For the second time this week we had a 3-year-old in the cage. It was fantastic to watch his excitement as the sharks swam nearby. I’m certain we have a future marine biologist in the making.
