Location: Gansbaai, South Africa

Dive site: Joubertsdam

Water temp: Moderate

Visibility: Poor

Sightings: Bronze whaler shark, Broadnose Sevengill sharks, African Penguins + Cape fur seal

Summary: Today’s adventure began with an incredible and close encounter as a raft of highly endangered African penguins approached our boat! It was a rare and unforgettable sight to see them up so close. Once we dropped anchor, our divers suited up in their wetsuits and the anticipation began to build. After a short wait, a juvenile bronze whaler shark made a brief but exciting appearance, allowing our first group of divers to enter the water. Unfortunately, that would be our only bronze whaler sighting of the day. We decided to move anchor closer to shore, and what a great decision that turned out to be! The stars of the day were the prehistoric  Broadnose sevengill sharks, which came in close, offering our final group of divers and spectators some truly spectacular views. Thank you all for joining us on this unforgettable trip!
