Location: Gansbaai, South Africa
Dive site: Joubertsdam
Water temp: Moderate
Visibility: Good
Sightings: Bronze whaler shark, Broadnose sevengill shark, Cape fur seal, Indian Ocean Humpback dolphin + African penguin
Summary: A calm day on the water, with the first arrivals departing from Kleinbaai Harbour nice and early this morning. After the unpredictability of yesterday’s sightings, it was a welcome surprise to see the first glimpse of the Bronze whaler sharks. The activity was fantastic, with multiple individuals displaying their predatory schooling behaviour. Tied with good visibility, guests were able to see the sharks to their full potential. The Broadnose sevengill shark made an appearance during the last trip, as well as sightings of the endangered Indian Ocean Humpback dolphin. To top it off, African penguins were also spotted exploring the waters, a great opportunity to witness a critically endangered species. Thank you to all who joined us on board Slashfin today!
