Location: Gansbaai, South Africa
Dive site: Joubertsdam
Water temp: Moderate
Visibility: Poor
Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Cape fur seal, Bottlenose dolphin + African penguins
Summary: A cooler dive for our guests today, with a slight drop in temperature. The Bronze whaler sharks arrived after a short wait on our dive site, with multiple mature females passing in front of the cage. On our way back to the harbour, we were surprised by large bait balls of fish that attracted a pod of Bottlenose dolphins and Cape fur seals taking the opportunity to predate. As we continued, a raft of the endangered African penguins were sighted, ticking off 4 of the Marine Big 5 that can be sighted in our bay. A successful day on the water, thank you all for joining us today.
