Location: Gansbaai, South Africa

Dive site: Joubertsdam

Water temp: Moderate

Visibility: Poor

Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Short-tail stingray, Cape fur seals + Indian Ocean humpback dolphins

Summary: After a few days of stormy weather, the bay held perfect conditions. Low swell and sunny skies made for a comfortable trip. Arriving on anchor, divers quickly out on their wetsuits and were ready to join the Bronze whalers who promptly arrived! Multiple individuals were sighted, including 2 Short-tail stingrays. Cape fur seals were active around the vessel, predating on fish and showing off their agility in the water. A trip along the coastline held sightings of the endangered Indian Ocean humpback dolphin, ticking off the sightings for the day. For our second trip of the day we also got lucky to encounter the Humpback dolphins surfing in the shallow swells! Not long after we anchored the first Bronze whaler sharks arrived! We had so many different individuals, allowing all our guests to get some nice close encounters! Also for this trip we had a Short-tail Stingray around!  Thank you to everyone who joined us on Slashfin!
