Sightings:  Bronze whalers

Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: Moderate

Visibility: Moderate

We started our trip not too early today in some nice conditions with not too much wind or swell. As soon as we reached our anchor spot in the shallows, our guests were ready to gear up and start their shark adventure. Once everyone got their wetsuits on and we spotted the first Bronze whaler, our first 9 divers climbed into the cage. The shark activity quickly picked up with some beautiful large individuals passing our divers in the cage. Bronze whalers stayed around us in large numbers for the rest of the trip, so everyone got the chance to enjoy them in the water. Once everyone had their shark cage diving experience we left our cage with the anchor and headed back to the harbour to pick up our next group.

We left the harbour for the second trip and once we reached our dive spot our sharks didn’t make us wait. They came in big numbers giving our divers in the cage really close passes. Everyone was thrilled to meet these beautiful animals up close. Once everyone had their chance in the cage we headed back to the harbour to enjoy our soup and bread that was waiting for us back at the great white house.
