This mornings trip had a shark on arrival however the shadow we saw did not approach once we had anchored and we had a short wait for a up close view. This was one of the juveniles that we have seen frequently as of late which was followed by a large female approximately 4.0m in length that was first seen yesterday with a fresh wound on the right side towards it’s tail. Much like yesterday she was one of the most active and a big favourite amongst our guests. We then had some more juvenile’s show up before things became very quite with the appearance of a Short-tailed stingray that stuck around for sometime leading to our sharks becoming a little bit skittish and staying away from wherever the stingray was. Things soon got back to normal with the arrival of a feisty 3.0m female, another 4.0m female and a male just under 4.0m in length we refer to as “Floppy” due to the rolled over tip to his dorsal fin.
The sharks were only 10 minutes in arriving for the second trip of the day with a 3.0m shark approaching the boat before the big sharks came. This trip saw many of the sharks seen on the morning trip including the male “Floppy”,the large female with the fresh wound as well as the other estimated 4.0m female with a very dark dorsal surface however there was another big shark addition to this trip with another large shark around the 4.0m length in size making its presence known very early on in the trip, however not as active as the others and not as interested in sticking around for long.
A fantatic start to a new week today with some windy but still pleasant conditions out on the water and some great shark sightings and activity too.
