Location: Gansbaai, South Africa

Dive site: Joubertsdam

Water temp: Warm

Visibility: Moderate

Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Short-tail stingray, Cape fur seals, Storm Petrels & African penguins

Summary: A wet and wild day on the water! Leaving Kleinbaai Harbour, the swell brought us towards our dive site in the shallow waters where we dropped anchor. The Bronze whaler sharks were abundant, with mostly large females gracing the waters in front of the cage. The large Short-tail stingray also appeared from deeper waters, offering an additional elasmobranch sighting. The first trip also took the scenic route home towards Dyer Island, viewing the Cape fur seal colony with many young cubs sighted. Thank you to everyone who joined us today!
