We launched early this morning and arrived at the dive site, in the Jubertsdam, just after sunrise. After about an hour of waiting we had a glimpse on a Great White shark. The shark approached the decoy but then he disappeared on us. After another hour of waiting without any sharks we moved anchor and have been lucky immediately and encountered another two sharks. One of them was estimated to be around 4 meter. The sharks we saw stayed down under water most of the time, but the divers in the cage had a great look at these beautiful creatures. Towards the end of our tour one of the sharks decided to show us some surface activity and did a beautiful spy hop for us. The trip started off slow but definitely finished with a bang.
The second trip of the day experienced a little delay in the arrival of our White sharks, with approximately 30 minutes of waiting till our first sightings, however once were spotted the activity was fantastic for much of the trip. The first shark to arrive is a male that we have encountered previously, with a very distinct dorsal fin in which an injury has caused the tip of the fin to fold over. Not too long after this male a larger female arrived, the largest of our trip and also the previous, measuring in at approximately 4.0m in length. These two were around for much of the first half of the trip before another male and female joined the list of sightings and a juvenile just over 2.0m in length. A great way to finish any day!
