We were fortunate to launch our cage at two different areas today! The first gave us a great view of a 3.5m shark at Wilfred’s rock with amazing visibility. Thereafter we settled in at Joubertsdam for the long haul! The sharks just couldn’t stop coming, one after the other they were demonstrating their aerial acrobatics as you can see in the photos. Absolutely amazing…
We had an awesome trip with amazing shark and bird activity at sea. We had an enormous flock of cape cormorants fly pass and keep us company throughout the trip. These birds are easy to recognise by their black bodies and the orange colouration around their beaks! The sharks gave us some amazing launches out of the water! I was happy to see everyone with big smiles…
Today we had double the fun, the boat ride was super exciting due to the swells and there was tremendous shark activity. The visibility in the water had room for improvement. This was likely caused by the heavy weather we had the previous day. To be able to see 10 sharks in what is considered to be the quiet season was fantastic! I can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store for us!
We had an amazing time today on the boat! There were several sharks having a field day with the bait and decoy lines, which we use to attract the sharks attentions and not to feed them. We did have a couple of quests who found themselves suffering from “motion distress”, but they were happy to take the water taxi back to land after their dive. Our sharks ranged in size from 2.5m to big 3.5m animals. It was truly a great day, many jaw dropping moments…
Today was amazing visibility in the water. There was a large female shark present today who gave some fantastic launches out of the water! She was almost 4m in length, a real treat for the quests. The sharks were great and stayed around for a long time, which made the rotations in the cage very easy! Some very satisfied clients were on the boat today, incredible day! Do white sharks give live birth or do they lay eggs? Do mom sharks take care of their young or are they left on their own? This blog gives you the facts!
The trip started off very slow and I did have my doubts at the start, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. We had a couple of competitive sharks who were loving the attention from the clients! Rosi made her scheduled appearance and played her part. We made a stop at dyer Island to view the penguins, as an extra treat, which was great. The weather was great and the group on board were full of questions. All and all it was a good day!
Rosi was present once again and she loved the camera! Although there weren’t many sharks, the ones that were there came to play! The Australians were not expecting the cold water, but they couldn’t get enough of the action. There were some great photos as well! Also our Mexican couple enjoyed a luxurious exclusive trip in the morning, enjoying the same great shark activity as well as Senior Matt’s espanol skills.
Conditions were much better then we expected today in the Dam. Our clients who came sure got to see an awesome show today! We had 7 sharks, starting off with some of the small white sharks we have seen a lot lately. All of a sudden we picked up a 3m female shark who I did not recognize, she repeatedly gave our clients in the cage some AMAZING views of her pearly whites! Towards the end of the trip we had a nice sized male come and give a phenomenal breach attempt on our decoy. A very special trip today!
